Care instructions

First some information

The outer fabric: Our products are made of Harris Tweed®: robust and water-repellent. Wool also has the characteristic of being self-cleaning. If you take good care of your wool, it will last a lifetime.
The lining: 100% organic cotton
The shoulder straps: 100% untreated leather, hand carved

Enjoy your bag for as long as possible

1. What to do in case of stains on the outside? Hang your bag outside for a few hours in the dew. Wool has the characteristic of being self-cleaning. If this does not help sufficiently, you can dab at the stains with a damp cotton cloth (e.g. handkerchief or kitchen towel).
2. De-fluff (“ontpuizen”) your bag on the outside: wool fluffs up due to friction. If you think it is necessary, use a fluff-remover. Be careful which one you use. Nowadays there are devices with soft blades (type Steamery for example).
3. How do you maintain the inside? Empty your bag twice a year, turn it inside out and clean it with a damp cotton cloth by rubbing gently or use a lint roller.
4. The shoulder straps: These are single to maintain the flexibility of the bag. They will “grow” with your shoulders. This is a natural process. In case of stains, you can hold the shoulder strap under a small stream of cold water and rub it gently.
When you are not using your bag, preferably put it down rather than hang it up. This is the best way to ensure the correct tension of your shoulder straps.

In one of our points of sale or at our head office. Send us an e-mail and we will send you the instructions.

What do we do with your bag?
There are 2 possibilities:
1. We refurbish your bag and give it a second life in our second-hand department. That way, your bag finds a happy new owner. All's well that ends well!
2. We disassemble your bag and turn it into something new. Examples: storage bags, key rings, baskets,... the ladies at Flagbag let their creativity run wild!
